Our 4th Saturday Sampler Club for 2022 will be a 12 month program based on the 1863 Dear Jane Quilt, running from January to December. Designed for the Confident Quilter. This quilt uses the Hex N More Ruler by Jaybird Quilts. This quilt is fat quarter friendly and using a background fabric.

This class is a beginner longarm class that is required to rent the Handi-Quilter longarm in our shop. It is a one time 3 hour class. All students are required to return within 2 weeks to use the machine again to complete their requirements to rent. This is also a wonderful way to learn about the Handi Quilter machines if you are looking to purchase a longarm now or in the future.

This is the first class of four with the workshops being on day five. There will be two national educators and twelve Amara machines to learn on. Does longarm quilting interest you, and you'd like to learn more about it? Or do you just want a review of longarm quilting basics? This class removes the mystery of longarm quilting by explaining machine and frame elements and features, how to load a quilt, and vital facts about thread, needles and tension. Quilters everywhere LOVE the excitement and fun of free-motion quilting, and it's easier than you think! Create flowing designs by connecting simple design elements with continuous lines, traveling across the quilt or filling in a specific area. Learn how drawing and muscle memory contribute to beautiful free-motion quilting, and how you can create stunning designs. Objective: Learn to create free motion designs that can be used to finish any quilt. Topics include: * How to develop an inventory of free-motion designs * Proper scaling and spacing of design elements * Edge-to-edge free-motion quilting * Adjusting your quilting path to create your own new designs * Using Micro Handles and adjustable handlebars for free-motion control

Pro-Stitcher is an intuitive computer-guided quilting system designed especially for use with HandiQuilter longarm quilting machines. Objective: Students will set up a design in an area and quilt it and set up an edge to edge design and learn the basics of advancing and repositioning designs. Topics include: * Basic overview of how to use Pro-Stitcher * Create an area and place a block using Skew, Resize, Xform or Align * Use the modify tools to make a design fit in any space * Demo how to set up an e2e design * Basic repositioning and advancing an e2e design

This is the fourth class of four with the workshops being on day five. There will be two national educators and twelve Amara machines to learn on. If you love precision and consistency in your quilting designs, you will love using design rulers and templates! These handy tools assist in placing designs accurately and stitching them out precisely. Learn to handle rulers and templates safely with the ruler base and Sure Foot, and how to achieve accuracy with the markings. The wide variety of HandiQuilter rulers will inspire you to new design heights. Objective: Learn the safe way to use rulers & templates. It was originally made during the Civil War and Jane had a very good imagination. You will explore traditional piecing skills along with various applique methods, paper piecing, and other techniques. And even better, the Dear Jane author Brenda Papadakis will be joining us to teach some of the blocks!

HUGS meets in the Quilt Haus * Way to Sew classroom every month, usually for two full days of sewing, fun, and fellowship. All are welcome.

Show your love this Valentine's Day by coming to the shop and quilting a HUGS quilt on one of our many HandiQuilter longarm systems, including the stationary (sit-down) machines. These donation quilts go to those in the community who need a "hug." This is a completely free event but it will help to know to expect you! No prior experience needed! We will show you the basics, and you quilt the quilt. Children 10+ years welcome as well. Our HUGS group will supply the quilt tops, backs, batting, and even thread, unless you have items you'd like to donate!
